Email Tracking

This assignment taught me the importance of clear and professional communication in the workplace. While revising Ms. Shi’s email, I focused on improving clarity, organization, and tone to better meet the audience's needs. Writing my response email helped me practice providing constructive feedback respectfully and effectively. Overall, this exercise highlighted the value of concise and purposeful messaging in professional settings.

Data Tracking

I tracked my data using Excel and my phone, which recorded my daily steps. My protein goal was to include at least one protein source in every meal, though I occasionally missed it. For instance, I sometimes opted for a bowl of noodles when I grew tired of animal-based products. I also tracked a calorie goal of 2,800, but there were days I overate. To compensate, I would reduce my intake to about 1,500 calories the following day.

My daily steps were generally low but spiked on days with outdoor activities, like yard work or my visit to the Texas State Fair. I also monitored my workout days, typically skipping the gym on weekends when I had afternoon plans. Lastly, I tracked my reading, aiming for five pages a day. While I started most weeks strong, I often stopped by Wednesday and picked it up again the following Monday, which made me realize this is an area I need to improve.

This data-tracking assignment helped me understand the value of consistency and self-awareness in meeting personal goals. I identified patterns in my habits. This data highlighted areas where I can improve, such as maintaining balance in my diet and improving my reading goals.

Team Presentation

My classmates and I from my BCOM class worked together to create and record a presentation on AI in the workplace. I really enjoyed collaborating with others and hearing different perspectives on the topic. Even after the presentation, our group stayed in touch to support each other in the class. I love working in teams and appreciate any chance to practice and improve my presentation skills.

Feedback Reflection

Feedback is one of the most important tools for growth in a professional setting. Getting feedback helps you see your strengths and weaknesses from another perspective, which is essential for improving your skills and performance. At the same time, giving feedback allows you to help others grow while building stronger working relationships.

However, how feedback is given or received matters a lot. Feedback needs to be clear, specific, and respectful to be effective. When done the right way, it creates a positive environment where everyone feels supported and motivated to do their best. Whether you're on the giving or receiving end, good feedback is a key part of professional success.
